Supplier's reply
How a cXML PunchOut works
Send a PunchOutSetupRequest the way Ariba, Coupa or Jaggaer would, shop in the supplier's catalogue, and check the cart that comes back.
- Setup request. The buyer's procurement system posts a PunchOutSetupRequest to the supplier with its IDs, a shared secret, a buyer cookie and a cart return URL (BrowserFormPost).
- Setup response. The supplier checks the credentials and answers with a one-time StartPage URL.
- Shopping. The buyer's browser opens the StartPage, usually in a frame or popup, and the user shops.
- Cart return. At checkout the supplier's page posts a PunchOutOrderMessage to the cart return URL in a
cXML-urlencodedorcXML-base64form field. - Order. After approval the buyer sends an OrderRequest server to server. Test that with the cXML order tester.
Basic and Advanced
Basic mode: fill in the fields and the tester writes the cXML for you. Add anything else the buyer sends under Extrinsics.
Advanced mode: edit the cXML itself, or paste one from a procurement system's logs. It is sent exactly as written, and the Basic fields aren't used. "Rebuild from Basic" starts it from what Basic would send.
